About Credit
Fortress’s Credit business was launched in 2002 by Pete Briger. Today, the Fortress Credit team consists of over 500 professionals and is focused on investing globally, primarily in undervalued assets and distressed and illiquid credit investments. With over 100 professionals dedicated to asset management in 14 geographic locations, the Fortress Credit team also has the experience and expertise to manage and service assets with operational complexity.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for real estate investment funds
- Assist with supporting the annual external audits
- Prepare GAAP basis financial statements
- Prepare quarterly investor capital statements
- Prepare supporting schedules for quarterly letters from management to the investors
- Ensure investment activity is properly recorded by Operations Team
- Coordinate with Operations, Asset Management, Treasury and Tax teams
- Prepare periodic capital calls and distributions to investors
- Prepare responses to investor questionnaires
- Work with the fund administrator
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- At least three years accounting experience, preferably in financial services
- Strong Excel skills and knowledge of advanced features in Excel
- Experience with real estate funds, private equity funds, or assets with similar characteristics
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail and prioritization capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and successful experience working in a team
- Ability to think out of the box and be successful in managing a breadth of responsibilities beyond financial reporting
- Working knowledge of Investran and Wall Street Office or Administrators a plus
