Job Description:
Summary
The Controllerâs Department is seeking a self-motivated individual who is good at problem-solving, detail oriented, and a team player to join our Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) team. Responsibilities of this position may include:
- Preparing account reconciliations and variance analyses.
- Ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Preparing moderately complex reports, statements, analyses, and interpretations utilizing advanced knowledge.
- Recommending alternatives to management when accounting data indicates trends or situations requiring action to be taken beyond the scope of responsibilities.
- Participating in the development and implementation of new or revised accounting systems.
- Reviewing accounting and reporting systems, procedures, and completed assignments of other staff to ensure compliance.
- Preparing and posting complex journal entries.
- Researching, analyzing, and using independent judgment in a variety of daily and non-routine decisions affecting assigned function.
- Researching and evaluating new or changed accounting principles and practices.
- Conducting training for campus users.
