Risk Accountant - 12 month FTC
Location - Birmingham

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Client Accountant looking for their next move or a practised Risk Accountant looking for something fresh, to join our Asset Services (property management) Team in Birmingham.

You will support the Risk Manager by ensuring that the department is aligned to sound financial practice and compliant with all reasonable standards, including those set by industry bodies and global accounting standards.

Working with the whole Client Finance team to make sure that they are operating to a high quality and consistent manner by acting independently of operations to set challenging and appropriate goals.

As well as ensuring the provision of accurate, insightful and challenging MI, working with the team to deliver on its key projects and mobilising new business appropriately.

At this level you will be accountable for protecting the business from risk of financial or reputational loss through a robust and efficient controls paradigm.

Key accountabilities

* Build and maintain an appropriate control environment that reduces CW exposure to financial and operational risk and protects our reputation.
* Ensures that the control paradigm is consistent with mandatory rules, and industry best practice.
* Maintain the Key Risk Documents / Incident Management / Cash Management

Key experience

* Knowledge of property management essential.
* Regulatory bodies that govern Property Management as well as accounting.
* Reviewing controls/processes and suggesting and implementing improvements.
* Experience of leading specific projects as well as being part of a team.
* Experience in preparing presentations for the purpose of Senior stakeholders
* Experience of accounting software such as Tramps/Yardi
