Job Summary
Support the Director of Accounting and Manager of Accounting in the development and maintenance of accurate, complete, timely financial statements and other financial information
Job Duties
Prepare various quarterly and annual financial statements, including certain complex statements and footnotes
Assist with the annual external audit of the Universitys financial statements and other required financial compliance reports to include preparing work papers, reports, and analysis related to the Universitys operations for internal and external audits
Preparation of various account reconciliations, including bank accounts, and review of various department reconciliations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries
Prepare various schedules as support for the annual IRS 990 and 990T tax reporting
Assist to maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting
Assist in special projects as requested and communicate status of projects
Assist in the development and maintenance of written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process
Research and resolve accounting issues to ensure US GAAP compliance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports
Experience using Workday as a financial system preferred
MS Word and Excel software skills
Exhibits professionalism in verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting; supplemented with five (5) or more years of experience in an accounting firm or an accounting position.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in accounting or related field; CPA licensure
