As a key member of the Executive Management Team, the Chief Financial Officer will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company working closely with the executive leadership team to set the company's direction and strategy. This role includes direct responsibility for the company's overall financial management, driving the company's profitability and overseeing all activities related to financial performance, forecasting, short term, and long term financial planning and analysis, budgeting, reporting, and tax matters of the company and its properties under management as well as treasury management, analysis of potential acquisitions, developments, capital improvement projects and other new investment opportunities for maximum return on investment.
The CFO will have day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, and managing the financial activities of both the company and the properties under management and for timely and accurate communication of results and financial positioning of the company and properties to stakeholders such as boards, owners, bankers, investors, and regulators. The CFO will also be responsible for supervising the accounting staff, accounting systems and procedures, banking and fiscal controls and oversight of the firm's bank, tax and investor relationships, risk management, information technology, and the maintenance of data privacy.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with owners, senior executives, and other key stakeholders to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.

- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Lead the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term financial objectives.
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the company and properties under management.
- Oversee financial statement preparation and accounting system administration.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budget comparisons, financial trends and forecasts for the company, entities, and properties.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the accounting functions of the organization and property financial functions.
- Oversee the improvement and ongoing implementation of effective business processes, accounting and reporting functions, policies and procedures, internal and external reporting and controls, internal audit procedures, cash management programs, data mining for analytical insights, and the enhancement of performance across all aspects of corporate finance as well as other areas of oversight.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Coordinate annual and internal audits.
- Identify, acquire, and implement new systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information to owners and management as needed.
- Work with HR to recruit, interview and hire finance, accounting and payroll, IT, and risk management staff as required.
- Oversee risk management to ensure that properties have proper insurance and claims are processed timely.
- Maintain relationships with banks to ensure optimal utility with low cost and high interest.
- Maintain relationships with investors to coordinate the delivery of K-1s and distributions.
- Work with Human Resources on funding issues and review of financial reports for retirement plan.
- Work with acquisitions team members on securing debt for Jones Street Transactions.
- Provide guidance to executive team regarding preparation of development budgets, government agency submissions and other financial and tax aspects of the development process.
- Lead financial due diligence and project budgeting for new acquisitions.
- Assist acquisitions with relevant closing processes including settlement statements, prorations, and funding.
- Work with asset management on disposition process including financial generation and closing items.
