We are looking for a highly analytical professional with strong communication skills and experienced in budget management to lead a team in the reporting of transactions and analyses related to specified financial statement areas.
In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the month-end/year-end financial statement close process and prepare monthly financial statement analysis. Derivation metrics that support business decisions. Interface with team and field personnel. Complete specified reporting and ensure it is completed on a timely basis for supervisor review. Assist with review and preparation of analysis/implementation of regulatory pronouncements or technical literature.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university
- Certified Public Accountant licensed or Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Minimum of six (6) years of working experience in an accounting, finance or auditing role in a mid-sized company
- Experience with budget management preferred

Job Purpose:
Responsible for leading a team in the reporting of transactions and analyses related to specified financial statement areas. Facilitate the month-end/year-end financial statement close process and prepare monthly financial statement analysis. Derivation metrics that support business decisions. Interface with team and field personnel. Complete specified reporting and ensure it is completed on a timely basis for supervisor review. Assist with review and preparation of analysis/implementation of regulatory pronouncements or technical literature.
Primary Functions:
- Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations associated with assigned areas;
- Support strategic initiative implementations;
- Identify and report key performance metrics;
- Understand and communicate cross functional impact of non-routine transactions;
- Review and approve regulatory reporting requirements;
- Manage integrity of general ledger and associated subsystems;
- Compile monthly financial statement data and assist with preparation of monthly variance reporting;
- Develop whitepaper analyses for newly issued regulatory and tax guidance;
- Assist with the preparation and publication of external reports;
- Maintain area procedures;
- Solve problems using critical and analytical thinking;
- Coach and train team within area;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Technical Requirements:
- Working knowledge of all, but not limited to, the following:
- Interpretation and application of regulatory accounting practices;
- Advanced level spreadsheet analyses and reports;
- Software Applications applicable to area (i.e. CC&B, JD Edwards, Hubble, Access);
- Related industry, organizational and departmental policies, practices, and procedures; legal guidelines, ordinances, and laws;
- Flexible and able to multi-task in an evolving work environment;
- Capable of working independently as well as within a team environment;
- Effective communications skills, both verbal and written;
- Proactively plan and organize responsibilities;
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, motivated, and a willingness to learn;
- Lead, delegate responsibilities, provide direction, and coach team members when needed;
- Understand and apply governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records;
- Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios and percentages;
- Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, scanner, etc.).
Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university;
- Certified Public Accountant licensed or Master’s Degree (preferred);
- Minimum of six (6) years of working experience in an accounting, finance or auditing role in a mid-sized company.

Physical Requirements:
