Senior Project Accountant
The Senior Project Accountant will support the Construction Department, reviewing all construction draws, preparing all financial reporting including bank reconciliations for third-party clients, and preparing construction department reporting required by corporate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review/audit and approve all construction draws
- Assist Construction Cost Analystsâ™ research & resolve issues as needed
- Prepare construction department reporting required by corporate
- Perform cash management functions, prepare and post journal entries, and research & resolve issues as needed
- Review accounts payable activity and prepare accruals as needed
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports and bank reconciliations in accordance with client deadline/requirements while adhering to policies and procedures and maintaining adequate internal controls
- Analyze rehab projectsâ™ financial data accuracy to ensure compliance with internal/external audits. Maintain records of all financial data required for audit and tax purposes
- Prepare audit and/or client related requests and other duties as received
- Participate in special projects as they arise
Education & Experience
- Bachelorâ™s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Adobe
- Deep understanding of financial concepts
- Excellent critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy, highly organized, able to multi-task, and self-motivated
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
