The Accountant in Student Business Services is the subject matter expert for all functions, accounting and administrative, relating to the Monthly Payment Plan (MPP). This includes the system set-up, accounting, reporting and analysis, student budget adjustments, enhancements, marketing and growth of plan, and provides customer service for MPP students and parents.

Monthly Payment Plan accounting and administration; sets up plan each term, reporting and analysis, student budget adjustments, marketing and growth of plan. Makes recommendations for and implements improvements to system set up and processes.
Federal Perkins Loan accounting and administration; prepares complex bank and General Ledger reconciliations, preparation and processing of journal entries, reporting and analysis, records CCU payments, submits payments to DOE, and disbursement checklists.
Customer contact for Monthly Payment Plan students and parents and Perkins Loan students. Works closely with our ERP vendors – Transact Payment solutions and ECSI Perkins Loan service, UMBC departments, and Maryland CCU for student account inquiries.
Back up for Customer Service and Cashiering Manager. Backup for Cash Receipt Log preparation.
Prepares and presents at Student and Parent Orientations, represents department at table fairs.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree preferably in Accounting or Business related field.
