Position Purpose The Financial Analyst oversees the integrity and compliance of day-to-day non-collections financial transactions. They collaborate with the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) to develop and maintain efficient and streamlined financial processes; and then advises and trains staff on those processes. The Analyst provides data, analysis, and recommendations to the CFAO on financial structures, budgets, and organization.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or similar degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Four plus years of financial and/or business management experience
Significant experience with financial systems, databases, and Excel
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

Description Oversees integrity and compliance of day-to-day non-collections financial transactions; processes correction of errors; processes purchase order and payment requests; initiates non-collections contracts in contract management system and tracks the contracts through their lifecycle; approves certain financial transactions; and conducts deep financial transaction analysis at own instigation or at direction of CFAO.

Description Develops internal Libraries financial processes and policies in collaboration with the CFAO; makes recommendations to the CFAO on financial structures and organization; assists CFAO by supplying data and analysis in relation to bargaining negotiations and ongoing union contract implementation; assists CFAO in developing annual budgets; and implements process changes.

Description Advises and trains staff on financial processes including help with iExpense forms; utilizing financial eforms; financial strings; event budgets; department, program, and student employee budgets; and runs reports as needed or requested by department or program managers.

Description Prepares payroll changes for CFAO, reviews and corrects payroll transactions, works with staff and student supervisors to resolve timecard issues and/or refers to finance center as appropriate. Preps position actions in recruitment system and maintains staff data.

Description Works with grant principal investigators to develop draft budgets and manage awarded budgets, provides transaction reports, and processes grant transaction error corrections. Liaisons with Office of Sponsored Projects as needed. May take on additional grant management roles as time allows.

Description Cross-trained with other Finance & Administration staff in answering questions and directing staff to Dartmouth services and resources (ie. Disability Office, Benefits Office, Risk Management, Office of Institutional Diversity & Equity, Policy Portal, forms, etc.)
