This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Greenwich Drive and remote.
DESCRIPTION
The Payroll Accountant is responsible for timely entry and correction of UCPath funding entries for UC San Diego Health employees. As a member of the Payroll Accounting team the incumbent assists with labor ledger validation and correction as well as general ledger validation and review on a monthly basis. The incumbent acts as a liaison between Payroll Accounting and Budget and Financial Forecasting to verify data accuracy related to employee funding, and budgeted positions. This position is expected to work with external agencies and groups under the direction of the Payroll Accounting Supervisor to assist in maintaining the payroll posting processes for UC San Diego Health.
Uses professional accounting concepts as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of accounting practices and organizational policies and procedures to resolve complex assignments where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors and multiple sources. Exercises judgment within defined accounting procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Normally receives general instructions, with detailed instructions provided on complex new assignments and initiatives. Has contact with internal and external resources on a regular basis. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training. Related experience: Budgeting, Payroll Analysis and/or General Accounting.
Experience and thorough knowledge of accounting function and assignments.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15
