Job Description
As a Senior Client Accounting Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract, you will lead and supervise an accounting team, ensuring effective support for both operations and clients through sound judgement and accounting principles. Your role will involve assessing team and departmental efficiencies, recommending improvements, guiding Client Accounting Managers, and resolving complex management issues.
You will oversee market, strategic, and key client accounts, building strong relationships with city leads, strategic and key clients, and internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities include monitoring team performance, addressing deficiencies, reviewing financial reports for quality and compliance, and ensuring timely tax payments and updates. You will also assess workflows, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with SOC 1 audit controls. Additionally, you will develop your team through goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback, work with the leadership team to achieve departmental goals, lead projects, and handle new business onboarding, pricing, and proposal preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise accounting team members, ensuring effective support and guidance.
- Oversee market, strategic, and key client accounts, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Monitor team performance, training needs, and address deficiencies promptly.
- Review and ensure the quality and compliance of financial reports.
- Ensure timely tax payments, revenue portal updates, and Corporate Ageing follow-up.
- Assess and improve team/department workflows and policies for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Track compliance with SOC 1 audit controls; approve financial transactions and reports.
- Develop and mentor direct reports, conducting performance reviews and providing feedback.
- Work with the leadership team to implement goals, lead projects, and participate in the Client Accounting committee.
- Coordinate new business onboarding and assist with pricing and proposals.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- College degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Seven to ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Yardi and/or MRI software preferred; proficient in MS Office; financial reporting for multiple entities preferred; excellent customer service, time management, and organisational skills; strong delegation and leadership abilities; capable of training, mentoring, and coaching; results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency; demonstrated leadership and accountability skills.
