The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is the premier international membership association for physicians, researchers, and medical professionals, who are dedicated to conquering lung and thoracic cancers worldwide. We are currently seeking a senior-level Accountant, to join our team of dedicated professionals.
Day to day, the Accountant is responsible for the developing and supporting department and program-level budget processes, managing accounts receivable, and accurate timely reconciliation of general ledgers and subsidiary ledgers. The accountant must be an organized self-starter with extreme attention to detail, who can effectively prioritize workload to meet established timelines.
This nonsupervisory, exempt position is physically based in our downtown Denver, CO office on a hybrid work schedule. This position reports to the Controller.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with department and program/project managers to develop and manage department or program-level budgets.
Monitor spending to ensure it stays within budget and assist program/project managers in reviewing and analyzing monthly budget variances.
Provide timely reports and analysis to support department and program/project managers in effective budget management and planning.
Effectively utilize financial management system (FMS) and other financial software to generate financial reports, visualizations, analytics, and dashboards for management review.
Accurately record accounts receivable and cash transactions in the FMS according to established department procedures.
Maintain monthly account reconciliation schedules and accurately record journal entries Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable sub-ledgers between Sage Intacct and Bill.com monthly and as needed.
Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting as assigned, including support for the annual audit process, and assisting with annual reporting on IRS Form 990.
Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts and monthly account reconciliation schedules, including appropriate journal entries. Research/resolve discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and fulfill requests for information, as needed.
Support annual budgeting for each fiscal year through the financial management system (FMS).
Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team and maintain positive interpersonal relationships in a small, intimate working environment.

Hybrid work schedule. Employees are based in our Denver office and are allowed to work remotely 2-3 days per week.
Compensation: $70,000-80,000 annually, depending on related experience.

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
A deep commitment to the mission of the IASLC and compassion for those living with a lung cancer diagnosis.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting.
3-4 years work experience in Accounting.
Proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), audit principles, standard accounting processes and procedures, and internal controls.
Proficiency in the use of Sage Intacct or similar FMS systems.
Advanced computer/software proficiency in standard office applications (Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook).
Strong technical skills with proven aptitude for learning new technologies quickly and integrating them efficiently into workflow.
Discretion and confidentiality in managing confidential and sensitive information.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, dependable.
Proactive customer service orientation, relationship building skills and flexibility.
Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with various IASLC teams.
Multilingual fluency/literacy would be a plus.
