General Summary
Produces financial reports, manages the general business records, maintains accurate and comprehensible accounting records for the College, performs timely reconciliations, and responds to general requests.
Essential Job Functions
Under the guidance of the Associate Controller, this position will produce financial statement information and reports using accounting software. All reports must be reconciled, including but not limited to the monthly balance sheet and statement of activities, general ledger detail reports, trial balance by function, trial balance by account number, and trial balance by department.
Maintains timely reconciliations; the monthly reconciliations include but are not limited to all balance sheet accounts to supporting documentation, the A/R and A/P subsidiary ledgers to their respective aged trial balances, gift recording reconciliations between the development records and the accounting software records, and the financial aid code activity in the accounts receivable subsidiary with the trial balance and the financial aid software system.
Handles general ledger and processes journal entries as needed.
Ensures payroll and financial reports are provided according to their schedules.
Maintains accounting records and supporting documentation.
Maintains the college databases, fixed asset spreadsheets, and all other required files.
Follows internal controls.
Processes accounts payable checks and maintains supporting documentation without A/P and payroll.
Performs audit support functions as needed.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 4 years of related experience.
Experience using financial software packages.
