Truckee Fire Protection District is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Administrative & Financial Services Director.

Under supervision of the Fire Chief this position manages and directs the operations and services of the Administration Division, which includes the Administrative and Finance Offices, while performing essential functions of administrative operations, human resources, risk management, accounting and government financial management. Additionally performs a full range of repetitive and routine tasks in the daily operation of the District.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and facilitate the recruitment, testing and selection processes for filling vacancies
• Administers District benefit plans
• Provide HR and financial guidance to managers, supervisors, and staff
• Oversee payroll processing and employee time accounting including reconciling leave balances
• Oversee employee discipline and separation
• Maintain District policy manual
• Oversee records retention
• Prepare District’s annual budget
• Oversee accounting of revenue and expenditures
• Act as liaison for contract auditor

Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business administration
with an emphasis in human resources and government finance.
Experience with the administration and fiscal operations of a public agency/special
district.
Desirable Experience and Education Qualifications:
Experience working with a Special District administering the fiscal and administrative
operations of a public agency.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Finance, or another related field.

Any specialized training in computers and/or office systems such as Sage50 accounting
software.
Possession of Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant
(CMA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Public Finance
Officer (CPFO).
Valid CPR certification.
