Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager to join our team. The Senior Accounting Manager will play a critical role in managing the company's accounting functions, including quarterly and year-end financial reporting to our corporate office overseas. This position requires exceptional communication skills, advanced proficiency in Excel, and the ability to oversee and mentor one direct report. A CPA designation is preferred but not required for this role. This is a hybrid position with a three day per week in person requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and submit accurate quarterly and year-end financial reports to the corporate office overseas.
Ensure compliance with corporate financial reporting standards and local regulations.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to the Managing Director.
Accounting Operations:
Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
Oversee and mentor one direct report, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their work.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
Collaborate with the Managing Director to support financial planning initiatives.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Ensure compliance with tax filings, reporting requirements, and other regulatory obligations.
Work directly with Accounting Consultants to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and manage audits, including any requests from Headquarters or external auditors.
Ensure compliance with tax filings, reporting requirements, and local regulations in collaboration with Accounting Consultants.
Finance Operations:
Oversee cash flow management and banking relationships.
Process and manage intercompany transactions and reporting as required by Headquarters.
Provide financial support for strategic decision-making, including ad hoc analysis.
Excel & Data Management:
Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data, create reports, and streamline processes.
Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all financial reporting.
Professional Communication:
Communicate effectively and professionally with the corporate office, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
Provide clear and concise financial reports and presentations.
Act as a liaison between the company and the corporate office for all financial matters.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a small or medium-sized company.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with financial reporting to international corporate offices.
Familiarity with accounting software and systems.
Supervisory experience or experience mentoring junior staff.
