Beaverton is seeking a highly skilled accounting professional able to shepherd a team to complete the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and maintain accounting controls and standards throughout the year. An upcoming retirement opens up this possibility for a high performer who preferably holds a CPA and has local governmental accounting experience.

The Position: This position will co-manage the City’s financial reporting activities, including year-end closings, annual financial reporting (ACFR), and coordinating the annual audit. This position will be responsible for GASB implementation, and maintaining the General Ledger. This position supervises accounts payable staff and plays a key role on the Finance Department’s leadership team. Additionally, this position will assist with preparing the annual budget, and evaluating internal control procedures and practices.
Staff currently rotate between working remotely and working in the office.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, and
Five years of experience in municipal accounting or municipal auditing, including
One year of experience in a lead or supervisory role; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position.
