The purpose of this class is to oversee all aspects of the accounting administration, audit, and 990 for the Community College of Baltimore College Foundation.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field required; CPA or Master's degree preferred. A minimum of four years of current accounting experience is required. Experience as an Accountant in a non-profit institution preferred. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, including the standards of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB 116 and 117), accounting and reporting for a non-profit institution. Proficient in computer skills and experience with all Microsoft Office Applications. Superior Excel skills to create analytical spreadsheets and general word processing for Board of Director meetings/ and presentations. Automated accounting system experience required, preferably in a non-profit institution. Experience with SCT Banner Student Information System and Raiser's Edge/Financial Edge is preferred
Oversees the finance and budget operations for the Foundation which will include partnering and working closely with Foundation staff.
Prepares and ensures the accuracy of monthly and year-end financial statements and is responsible for monthly reports and analyses provided to the Board and investment committee.
Responsible for compliance with FASB Accounting Standards by staying current with updates and effectively implementing Accounting Standards updates (ASUs)
Responsible for managing and leading the annual audit and preparation of all audit schedules and the 990 for the Foundation.
Responsible for coordinating, preparing, and reviewing the annual budgets for the Foundation, including tracking, forecasting and analyzing trends.
