This position is responsible for accounting functions of the Athletics Department; including deposits, creation of journal entries, accounts receivable, cash controls, financial reporting, month and fiscal year closings and other financial/accounting duties in a timely fashion; while following Federal, State, and University rules and regulations. It is also responsible for assisting with the development of policies and procedures, internal controls, and operational efficiencies overall within the department to follow the guidelines of the University of Colorado, NCAA and Big12 Conference.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Reporting
Prepare, maintain and assist with various monthly, quarterly and annual reports including Pacfund, Gifts, Fundraising Events, UBIT, SAF/ SAOF, EADA and NCAA AUP.
Reconciliations
Prepare and maintain various monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations including tickets, financial aid, per diem and medical expenses.
Journal Entries
Prepare various journal entries to record various revenues and expenses in a timely manner to meet University month and fiscal year end deadlines.
Deposits
Work closely with the Bursar’s Office to ensure cash and checks are deposited in a timely manner and in accordance with campus and University policy.
Other
Other duties as assigned including supporting other Business Office roles with payroll and travel and expense reports and invoices.
What We Can Offer
Starting salary range is $62,000 - $67,000. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.

What We Require
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
One year experience with accounting, financial management, and business processes.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
What You Will Need
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and regulations.
Attention to detail.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and on a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in Paciolan.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
What We Would Like You to Have
Two years of experience with the management of the general ledger, balance sheet and other financial statements.
Two years of experience in Paciolan or ability to learn ticketing financial systems.
Two years of experience in accounting in a higher education or intercollegiate athletics setting.
