General Ledger Accountant

The GL Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department with various projects and year end duties. Primary duties include Month and Year-end journal entries, assisting with Month and Year-end close, monthly balance sheet recs, and providing accounting information and analysis to other departments as needed. This could be a great learning opportunity in growing company with potential for increased responsibilities over time.
Essential Job Functions
Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for US and Canada.
Provide support to non-accounting departments on multiple topics.
Assists both the AR & AP teams with cash application, invoice processing, research as necessary.
Assists with month-end/year-end general ledger close including the preparation and posting of journal entries.
Vendor maintenance in operating system.
Provide support for internal/external audits and budget processes.
Additional projects as assigned.
Job Skills and Abilities
Applicable knowledge of accounting principles.
Experience working within an Accounting and ERP system. Epicor and Salesforce experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on Excel, Access, Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
Proficient in data entry and ten key typing.
Comfortable working independently with little to no supervision.
Excellent organizational, decision making, and analytical skills.
Strict attention to detail & accuracy.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to effectively communicate financial/accounting information to non-accounting persons.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 3 years progressive accounting experience.
