To provide professional financial analysis to the College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI), including financial management tools, trends analysis, budget planning, and other analyses. Collaborates with the Business Services Manager, College Business Officer, Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs, and other team members to make appropriate recommendations about financial activities in a manner that aligns with university and college policies. Understanding and applying best practices, fund accounting expertise, as well as sponsor project guidelines. Responsible for applying fundamental accounting practices and controls to a variety of financial transactions, analysis, and reporting.
Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience, falling within the range of $55,000 to $65,000.
Essential Duties:
Financial Analysis and Reconciliations
Review and reconcile assigned cost center transactions verifying detail accuracy, permissibility, practicality, and allocation of the transaction in corresponding to the larger purpose of the cost center.
Provide expert account guidance and budgeting support to faculty, staff, and students in a proactive and service-minded approach.
Provide financial and accounting analysis and reports, as requested, under the general direction of the Business Operations Manager, College Business Officer, and the Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs. Synthesize, and prepare reports for management, representing current and projected financial status and providing explanations on large variances and discrepancies using research and analysis tools.
Coordinates, compiles, and analyzes periodical expenditure reports for all areas of the organization while noting variances and apparent discrepancies and developing recommendations as appropriate. Produces integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections and presentations utilizing spreadsheet and database applications.
Assist in annual budget preparation and year-end audits, ensuring accuracy of accounting data. Making recommendations based on findings.
Stay informed on applicable laws and regulations that impact the organizations' compliance with internal financial controls.
Financial Transaction Initiation and Support
Initiate, process, route transactions and verify/troubleshoot for compliance with organization policies and procedures.
Receives and deposits funds on behalf of CONHI to ensure correct accounting codes are utilized.
Initiate budget transfers, cost center requests, funding change e-Forms including grant appointments, inter-department transfer entries, distribution of income and expense, and general error corrections as requested by the Manager of Business Services and/or College Business Officer.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related degree and a three (3+) plus years of increasing responsibilities including record keeping, accounting, administrative, secretarial, and clerical; OR seven (7) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Masters of Business Administration Degree and 6 (six) years experience in higher education.
