We currently have an opening for an Accounting Specialist. The Accountant will Support the day to day accounting operations in a share services environment, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of shared service activities, and in accordance with agreed service levels.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Prepare journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and intercompany billing in accordance with Accounting rules and regulations.
Successfully navigate SAP to view documents and account balances, run reports, analyze purchase orders, invoices, and utilize SAP data for analytics.
Efficiently complete Microsoft Excel spreadsheets including pivot tables, vlookups, and analysis of data.
Identify and implement opportunities for continued improvement and simplification of financial and business processes.
Liaise with FP&A and other CFS team members to execute the financial close, provide guidance, and work together to improve processes.
Perform intercompany analysis and support variance clearing.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and provide support for SOX and audits.
Operate independently within a varied and changing scope of responsibilities under some supervision.
Conduct special project analysis and backup support involving financial data.
Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for assigned activities.
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and/or Business preferred. Candidate currently working on accounting degree with accounting job experience would be considered.
2-3 years related work experience.
Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines.
Prior experience in a large company Shared Services environment or cross-division business unit model preferred.
Strong system knowledge with SAP and Hyperion experience preferred.
