What does a phenomenal Accountant do? A successful Accountant will be self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of thriving in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Responsible for preparing monthly journal entries for posting to the general ledger along with monthly general ledger account reconciliations. Analyzing, verifying, and recording financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure documentation of reconciliation and journal entry procedures are maintained as changes occur. Assist in the monthly financial close process.
As an Accountant, you will: * Ensure appropriate and accurate revenue recognition through reviewing contracts with customers and preparing monthly revenue trend and variance analysis reports * Assemble, reports and produce reconciliations provided to vendors * Prepare and post journal entries across a broad area of balance sheet and income statement accounts * Prepare, obtain, and review supporting documentation and financial schedules for completeness and accuracy that uphold each journal entry * Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations on accounts including - but not limited to - prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, capitalized software, deferred revenue, and others * Work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with GAAP and Fiserv policies * Maintain SOX internal control procedures and documentation * Assist with internal and external audits * Learn responsibilities of others within the accounting team * Other projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications for Consideration: * Bachelor's Degree in accounting or equivalent business degree
Preferred Qualifications for Consideration: * SAP experience is a plus * CPA is a plus * Willingness to research and resolve accounting matters * Ability to use strong analytic skills to solve problems and make decisions based on limited precedents or guidelines * Balance sheet reconciliation experience * Strong understanding and working knowledge of accounting theory and practice including GAAP * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Microsoft Excel skills * Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts * Results focused while ensuring deadlines are met with a high level of quality * Detail oriented * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management, and external customers * Commitment to continuous process improvement
