Job Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing the day-to-day accounting required to maintain the organization’s general ledgers. Working under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for recording the monthly closing of accounting records, financial reporting and assistance with annual audit and tax workpaper preparation.
Essential Responsibilities:
Updates, improves workpapers and supporting schedules for various entities and completes month-end closing entries.
Completes quarterly updates of fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
Prepares quarterly financial statements for various entities.
Prepares quarterly loan covenants to external lenders.
Analyzes monthly expense classification budget variances and documents significant variances for communication to management.
Assists with coordinating audits by external accounting firms and preparing necessary audit workpapers.
Assists with the coordination of annual tax return preparation.
Assists with the preparation and coordination of the annual budgets for various entities.
Assists in design of more effective procedures and processes as necessary.
Responds timely to financial inquiries from staff members and external partners.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Two or more years of progressive work experience in an accounting role.
Strong technology skills preferred. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel is required.
Technical skills and experience in financial reporting.
Experience with Acumatica accounting software preferred.

Physical Requirements:
The ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
