Delivery methods include teaching in the classroom and online to undergraduate and graduate students.? &#xa0; Additional &#xa0; responsibilities include academic advising, student club advising, involvement in department projects, assessment data collection, and activities &#xa0; representing &#xa0; the department at campus-wide recruiting events, and participation in campus committees.? Duties also include contribution to student growth and development, participation in department and institutional activities, evaluation of student performance, engagement in scholarly activities, and participation in service to the University and community.? SMSU, in its commitment to meeting the service needs of the region, expects faculty to engage in regional service, education or study as part of their community service responsibility Minimum Qualifications Ph.D., DBA in Accounting from accredited schools (e.g., AACSB, ACBSP, or IACBE accredited). Considerations will be made for applicants in ABD status and expected to receive their Ph.D. or DBA from accredited schools within one academic year of appointment. Consideration will be made for applicants with an MS in Accounting and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license through a state board of accountancy &#xa0; Prior experience in teaching and developing accounting courses listed in position description. &#xa0; Demonstrate teaching effectiveness to deliver courses via in-person, online, and hybrid formats. &#xa0; Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and business/community groups, including but not limited to &#xa0; participating &#xa0; in department accreditation events, student club advising, etc.&#xa0; &#xa0; Applicants should have superior written and oral communication skills. &#xa0; Ability to work and teach and be accessible to students on campus during the weekdays. &#xa0; Preferred Qualifications&#xa0; Teaching experience in &#xa0; accounting &#xa0; courses listed in the position description at the graduate level. &#xa0; Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching courses in Forensic Accounting and Income Taxation. &#xa0; Professional work experience in &#xa0; accounting &#xa0; outside of academia.&#xa0; &#xa0; Demonstrating teaching excellence with positive student evaluations.&#xa0; &#xa0; Evidence of current scholarly activity.&#xa0; &#xa0; Applicants can &#xa0; demonstrate &#xa0; positive student impacts outside the classroom. &#xa0; Understand and appreciate liberal education. The Grant Accountant position is responsible for providing independent guidance and oversight to principal investigators and department administrators in regard to grant and contract policies and procedures, compliance and regulatory issues, and post-award administration. This individual must demonstrate an advanced knowledge and understanding of federal and non-federal regulations, guidelines, and policies covering grant and contract processes. A working knowledge of post award accounting and financial reporting, performing internal audits of grants and contracts to ensure compliance with college and funding agency requirements is required. &#xa0; Assisting principal investigators and departmental administrators in interpreting college and funding agency policies and guidelines to ensure financial compliance including GAAP, 2CFR 200, FAR, IFRS and NYS grant regulations. This individual will also be involved in the development of new post award policies and procedures. Responsibilities  Review and perform grant/contract fund set up based on award documents including: notice of award/agreement/contract/purchase order, budget detail, cost sharing, indirect cost rate, project start and end dates, agency regulations and guidelines and agency reporting requirements. Disseminate grant fund numbers and other relevant information to Principal Investigators and Administrators. Monitor and meet sponsor requirements for deadlines on invoicing and reporting; prepare invoices to collect funds as expeditiously as possible on non-letter of credit accounts; advise GCA Management of invoices which require more than routine follow-up. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports required by sponsors. Reconcile and analyze all funds in preparation for billing/reporting and close-out, including cost sharing and indirect cost analysis. Prepare accounting entries as needed as well as project close-out entries. Responsible for timely resolution of grant deficits and closeout of all assigned grant accounts. Monitor salary and non-salary expenditures and cost transfers; approving those that conform to college policies and sponsor requirements. Respond to inquiries made by PIs, department administrators, awarding agencies, and others in a timely manner, utilizing excellent customer service skills. Make various business decisions appropriate to the position; consulting with upper management as necessary. Work with management to determine accounts which require more oversight. Banner system testing, training, policies and procedures Other duties as assigned &#xa0; &#xa0; Bachelor?s degree in accounting preferred. Demonstrate an advanced knowledge and understanding of federal and non-federal regulations, guidelines, and policies covering grant and contract processes. Strong knowledge of the Banner Finance System is preferred. Microsoft Office applications. Banner experience a plus. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, mathematical and written communication skills.
