Report to CFO (CPA) and handle general accounting duties and various special projects at a private grant-making foundation that also manages two in-house charitable operations (hill-country church retreat center and a local nature education center).
Compile and record monthly investment transactions and prepare journal entries
Work hands-on in general ledger (QuickBooks)
Provide real-time, accurate financial information to management
Participate in budgeting process
Support month-end and year-end closing processes and work with outside CPA auditors to help prepare audited financial statements
Prepare and process payroll
Manage 401k plan and assist employees
Act as back-up to accounts payable manager

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA or CPA candidate
2-4 years of experience in general accounting or auditing or tax work
Proficiency in Word/Excel/QuickBooks
Good communication skills and ability to communicate with foundation executives and directors
