Hiring Range is between $71,300-$84,000/year; position has a max pay of $127,000/year

Interview and Selection Process: Targeting week of July 14 for first interviews; we have two interviews total
Panel Interview - typically our first step, we conduct an interview between the selected applicant and members of City staff the applicant may work with. We try to give one-two weeks notice to schedule this.
Department Head Interview - typically our last step, we will have top candidates from the panel interview process interview one-on-one with the Department Head. This usually takes place one-two weeks after the panel interview. From here, the Department Head will make the hiring recommendation.
For applicants out of the area (3 hours travel), you can request a video interview, which is approved on a case by case basis, but note that we typically require applicants to come in person for at least one of the interviews.

As Senior Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
Leading the City’s annual audit process, including coordination with external auditors and preparation of required documentation.
Performing advanced accounting work, including reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger review.
Developing financial reports and projections that help guide decision-making across departments.
Assisting with the preparation of the City’s budget and supporting departments with budget monitoring and reporting.
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and applicable laws and regulations.
Reviewing and verifying accounting records related to accounts payable, payroll, utility billing, and more.
