Primary responsibility will be preparing and maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and reviewing and providing financial data for decision-making. This role involves tasks like preparing financial statements and other reports, accounts payable, reconciling accounts, auditing financial records for accuracy, tax returns, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
EDUCATION:
Associate's degree in accounting or a related business field. Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related business field preferred. Knowledge of RUS accounting procedures and the Uniform System of Accounts is a plus.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Three or more years of accounting experience preferred. Previous electric utility experience is helpful.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
High level of experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel is required. Must be a highly motivated person requiring little direct supervision. Must be an individual who likes working with others and is capable of motivating others within a team environment. Must be able to prioritize work in order to meet all of the various deadlines throughout the month and year. Must be skilled in dealing and communicating with people both within and outside the organization. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent listening skills needed.
